I’m so glad to have eyebrows, eyelashes & hair again!!

I know I am always doing face progress but it’s not just for the weight loss.

It amazes me to look back on the face that I wore for 2 years - it almost feels like without the pictures it wouldn’t be real

The pic on the left was taken the weekend we celebrated me finishing chemotherapy 6th of July 2013 and the second pic was taken last week so just over a year between them

That pic of the left was truly all the chemotherapy I could have taken, my body just could not take anymore.

My leg is not totally fixed even after 4 surgeries, but I spent 3 hours dancing at Lady Gaga’s artRAVE tonight so I am definitely making progress even if it is sore.

You are constantly faced with obstacles but you need to just take them one at a time and know that even when it doesn’t feel like it things will get better

There was a documentary done on the “Gully Queens" and their means of living done either earlier this year, or last year. I watched it, and it just solidified what I already knew about the country my mother and father are from.

So when word got to me about the one this photo set comes from I promised myself I wouldn’t watch it because it’s a reality I didn’t want to face again. But it was on my dash, and decided to press play. This is what life is like in Jamaica for LGBTQ people. This is what law enforcement (who is supposed to protect the people feels lesbian & bisexual women need).

In the documentary they also bring up the story about the mob who surrounded the store that the man who was seen putting lipstick on, and another who was shot and killed for dressing in drag. It’s a very dangerous thing being queer and living in the west indies.

I am sad beyond words to hear about James Foley. Please, please, out respect for his family, do not watch or reblog the video of his death.

Twitter has promised to take down the video and pictures of the execution but it hasn’t done so yet so proceed with caution.

Sgt. Thomas McVicar of the Jersey City Police Department shot 22 year old Kwadir Felton, leaving him blind, after Kwadir pulled a gun on him, he claims. Kwadir Felton denied the accusation, stating that he doesn’t even carry guns.

"I don’t understand!" Felton yelled at a police officer before his mother was removed from the courtroom. "You didn’t have to shoot me in the head for no reason! You trying to charge me with something I didn’t do!"
